Default Prospective Ram buyer from good ole North Carolina...

I recently made the decision to start looking into buying a Dodge Ram. My dad has always been an avid fan of Dodge, and it wore off onto me.

Since I am new to the Dodge arena, I feel like this is a great place to start. First question, I want to get a good deal on dual exhaust for the Ram. Any tips from anybody for that?

Any suggestions would be great to know for a first time buyer for a Ram.

here's a check list to print out
and help you remember spots to inspect on a used Ram:

http://dodgeram.org/buying_info/Inspect.htm

it also worthwhile to know about common problems:

http://dodgeram.org/tech/troubleshoot/Problems.htm

and official fixes from Dodge for known factory defects:

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/index.html

used Ram prices are way down so drive a hard bargain

use any problems you spot to negotiate a lower price

my own philosophy is to not be afraid to buy a vehicle with known problems at bargain prices if you have already spotted the bad components and will immediately have them fixed with new or rebuilt parts just after the sale

for custom exhaust work Corky at Durham Radiator on Highway 70 between Durham and Hillsborough is a 'good ol boy' drag racer who will work with you as to what you want

HemiFever is a member of most Ram forum boards and lives in Cary NC, and is an expert in Ram PCM computer flashing and SCT tuners

The Rockingham NC dragstrip has various events for Dakotas and Rams and is a good place to find knowledgeable Magnum V8 engine builders

NC is one of the top states for vehicle and engine knowledge, with a vast number of shops of all types both small and large

good luck

Welcome to DF!!

You may also check out Motor City Auto Parts (one of the forum sponsors), I'm sure they'll have some great deals for forum members. I was just taking a look, and was quite surprised to see so many vehicle models covered.
