Hello Amanda [sm=smiley1.gif]
I don't like to blow my own trumpet but it sure does get attention, people stopping and having a long good look. Thumbs up etc It's good but not what I brought it for, just a perk of having a car like this I guess - I love it and that's all that matters. Yip, this car sure does get the best of everything, even more than me. The only money this car doesn't get goes on Beer lol!! But that's to drink and have fun and also drink and talk cars with my cousin (drives a phord) but it's an Aussie built one.
There's about 12 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T's in New Zealand and I know a couple of them at least are clones
Mine is a one of kind here, with it's options and colour combo [sm=smiley16.gif]
From what I've seen I take it this is your site? If so it's bloody boomers. I've been looking for a few more Mopar sites, as I belong to cudachallenger.com and am a member/moderator at Moparchat. Now I have 3 great sites to visit and keep my mind off my Challenger as it is out of my hands due to the painter getting it soon, in other words I've done all I can.
Love the site and don't worry I'm sticking around. I already know one guy here 71RR here's a top bloke so I feel quite at home here [sm=smiley20.gif]
Thanks for the kind words and welcome.
Cheers, [sm=smiley4.gif]

Yea, we love 71ROADRUNNER here too... you'll fit right in! LOL!
Can you outrun anything else on the road? Not too many original muscle cars there I'd assume... What's the popular brand out there? Ever been to the states?

I haven't really had the car long enough, I drove it for about a month or so before it started getting a well deserved resto. But #$%& it could move, 2nd was quick as. I also have a twin-turbo Subaru wagon 4wd light as but, you know how when you get a new car and you can tell the difference in acceleration. The Dodge was like that and the Subaru pulls pretty hard for a pile of rice. Subaru does 6 flat to 60mph and 1/4 of 14.3 Mine is surposed to does around 13.8 1/4 but 6.2 to 60mph.......BUT.......Once I started my Resto I found that it was only running on 3 carbs LMAO!!!!! Sucking waaaaay too much air in and forcing it to choke. So I brought a Carb rebuild kit and a jetting kit to fix that problem so it will be heaps quicker and run smoother. The only mods I'm doing are Headers and exhaust the rest is stock. Engines as you know are basically big ovens, you gotta let the breath, so that will help performance and also cut the cost of gas money a bit.
The cars down here would be a ratio of 7/10 are rice the others are a mix of Aussie built Fords and Holdens both V8 makers. And the rest classic cars. It's awesome because Ford and Holden compete agaisnt each other and Chev also makes Holden engines so there all scobling but they all leave the Mopar's alone not even a bad word. I've heard a few say they respect Mopars.
No I haven't be to America, one day I will but I don't know where. I have cousins there that moved back in 1998, they moved and they don't email. Wouldn't mind having a few hard nights on the booze there be good. Plus drive a Mopar down Highway 66 would be awesome
I found these photos I cut up and stuck in a folder lol!! Crap but I think you can see enough.

Holden is owned by General Motors... I've seen lots of Holden models that look like they were derived from it's US counterpart. I know Holden were huge in Australia... wasn't sure about NZ.
Wow!! Sounsd like she had some issues before you got her... my truck recently got headers... next comes the intake manifold and Throttle Body. Already did the exhaust... but I want to redo it again... LOL!
Anyway... TERRIFIC PICS!! I love your car!! It's so bad *** looking... I LOVE IT! I want a Muscle Car too!!!

Thanks for the kind words Amanda. I want a big Dodge Truck!! There bloody chunky, don't see too many of them here plus there very pricey they cost US dollars here about $50-60,000
That looks worse in NZD $110,000!!!!! Even 1997's arent cheap about $30,000 USD
Yeah you should get a Muscle car, you'll love it. I'm quite surprised you havent got one being such a Mopar girl

Mine's a 1994...
I can't believe they cost that much!! This would be a huge thing... but could you buy it here for regular price and bring it back there if you really wanted to?
I'll tell you a secret... I was raised on General Motors products [:'(] ... but when I got old enough to think for myself, my obession with Mopar began. So I had old GM cars around... old Corvettes etc. Never an old Mopar... otherwise I probably would have purchased a cheap one years ago to slowly restore. I could have thousands of time over of GM and Fords... but I'm a Mopar Girl.
Plus, I'm only 24, so I have many years to find and restore my Mopar muscle car. I had to start with my truck... she's a beauty and I'll have her forever. Had to have the 5.9L Magnum engine... Oooohhh yea!!!

Nicccce I was going to ask what's under the bonnet (hood)
You can bring them back BUT it cost's like $5,000 USD to do a conversion, plus shipping plus the paper work so you'll still save money but it's a lot of work and trust in getting one here. I was going to go down that track to get my e-body but it's easier as the law is that if it's 20 years old from the date shipped it doesn't need to be converted, there's a few other rules but a 1970 Challenger would be fine etc.
So say there was a 1994 costs $15,000 US which is $30,000 NZD plus shipping and conversion I'd be looking around $45,000. So it's pretty much the same as here actually. Hmmmmmm. I have to buy another Muscle car I'm eyeing up a 1970 Charger #'s macthing only so it will probably be a 383 but sheesh they can move, very underated engines the ol 383's.
