Default New Ram owner

Hey everyone,
I just bought a stock 05 4.7 dual cab Dodge pickup and want to mod it a bit. I have been looking into doing http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...0A2601482.aspx and some type of exhaust like http://www.hottexhaust.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=15891
Any warnings, advise or "Go for it Dude!"'s would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Frank~

welcome to the site. i haven't heard to great of stuff about the volant intakes. BFI seems to be showing some of the best gains. my next muffler will be a magnaflow. go for it on the exhaust. do some research on the intake

Welcome to the site. I would go with Magnaflow, AEM cold air intake, and JBA headers as they are working great for me,

Thanks for the responses!
I will look into your recommendations OklaHemi.
Thanks for the heads up on the names VP64. I know there are a lot of shorts I will be learning on a new forum. I am a long term member of my coral reef forum reef sanctuary.
Here is a picture of my new ride. You can see my little girl hanging out of the window. She is pretty excited about the truck also

OklaHemi, after a bit of searching I only came up with BFI fitting Hemi's. Not the 4.7 that I have. Would you have any links that I could browse?

Thanks for the welcome arie20.
fascistfaction,
I missed your post earlier and am looking into the AEM cold air intake. It does seem compatible with the 4.7l
I am not to sure about tearing into the headers just yet. One thing at time. Money is tight these days being a contractor. But things are starting to pick up.
The reason why I was going with the Volant originally is becasue it made sense being completely sealed off from the engine compartments heat. Where all the others I am reading about including the AEM and BFI, they are siting right there in the compartment exposed.
Keep in mind I am a wet back to this stuff and am still learning. Please feel free to load me up with info for I am a quick learner Thanks!

The AEM has a heat shield around the three sides that are adjacent to the engine. It also plunges down into the wheel well. The most effective part of the CAI is the volumn of air that can go into the chambers and is not restricted like the stock OEM. Either one would be better than stock,
