I'm now a Dakota Owner...
Hello everyone, I'm a new member here. In February I bought my first Dodge, a used 2000 Dakota Sport, after my Grand Prix had decided its time in this world was done. The truck I picked up ended up being a pretty sweet deal. Like I said it was a 2000 model year however when I bought it there were only 12,000 original miles on this (at the time) one owner truck. The guy who owned it before me was pretty sick from what I understand and rarely got to drive it. So in any event, here's a picture of it, it's in outstanding shape for a 5 year old truck.

RE: I'm now a Dakota Owner...
Guess I left out the important info, it's a V6 with 4-Wheel Drive. I would have loved to have the V8 but then with gas prices going the direction they are and the fact that I don't really do a lot of trailering, the V6 will do. Also, it was pretty hard to turn down the truck when I found it, with that low mileage there just wasn't much of an option. Earlier that day I had looked at a QuadCab for about the same price, but it had over 60K on the ticker.
JDakota92, you said it, perfect size. My wife and I were talking about that last night. It's bigger than the other 1/4 ton trucks but not as big as the full sized 1/2 tons. The bench rear seat was the biggest reason I went Dakota. I've got three kids and I'm able to fit them all in the back no problem. In fact we just took the whole family up to my in-laws (about a 3 hour drive) and it worked out well.
The color is starting to grow on me. To be honest, the yellow isn't normally a color I'd pick but as I said before, the mileage was worth it. Now I'm starting to really like it and it's nice that you don't see too many of them on the road. The step bars and rear window decal were on there when I bought it too. I'm thinking of taking the decal off only because when it rains, water sticks in the holes of the decal and makes visibility really tough. The only thing I've modified on it since I bought it was pulling out the stock air filter (which I think was still the original factory unit) and replaced it with a K&N Drop in filter. I've used the K&N's in all my vehicles for a long time, I really like 'em.
