Default 2010 Ram Automatic Transmission

New guy here!

I just purchased a 2010 Ram 1500 Crew Cab, STL, 4.7L. Love the tuck, but the transmission has me concerned. Shifting up (in D) is fine, down shifting (leaving it in D) feels like I am manually doing it. Seems like from 3rd to 2nd or 2nd to 1st. The tach actually jumps about 500 RPM's!

Took it to dealer - they reset the computer said to drive it like hell - because the transmission/computer has a memory - driving habits, etc.... Service Manager said I was babying it. If there is a Dodge Mechanic out there that would confirm or deny please let me know. Do they all down shift like this? I have 2005 Durango and have never had problems with this. Stumped... help!

Welcome to the forum. I hear babying is a bad thing to do. But i can't tell you why. I drive my truck the way i drive from day one.

Thank you for the reply!

Wonder how miles I have to put on it before I can easy off the throttle... plus the gas mileage is rather poor

I have about 1600 miles on it now.

Question -how do I pose this question under "new post"?

Nice trucks btw! Nothing better then a black truck
