Well just wanted to say Hi since I'am a new member as of today..

Just bought my first Dodge ever 1999 Ram 2500 4x4 , 5.9L Auto w/od .. Work truck mainly has plow package less plow etc . Since Im a logger here in NH it will see alot of woods , since it is now my main transportation to and from the jobs . Heck it's even Green ..lol good color . Only had it a little over a week now but so far so good . For a 99 it only has 76K original miles so for what I paid for it I thought it was a good deal .

Good to be here and excellent forum for dodge research , ay tips or things to look out for with this year truck ?? I know about the OD tranny's not being the best but was wondering if there is anything else.

Later Rob

Hello all. My name is Richard and I am glad to join this site. I live in the Monterey Bay Area of California. I have been looking over the posts for the last couple of days. I have picked up on a few interesting things regarding engines that I have not even thought about. I own A 2001, 2500, QC, 4x4, LB, HD with a 5.9L gas engine. I hual a self contained truck camper and tow a boat on my free time. (Fish-on) On my last trip, I travled 3,300 miles and used 10 qts of oil. Last week I took my truck to the dealer for repair work and they told me that I probably had a bad plenum pan gasket. Thank goodness for 7/100,00 warranty. I could not understand the internal oil usage, so I logged on the web and found this site. Should of checked it out a lond time ago. One thing that I have not read to date is what happens to all of the oil that ends up in the plenum pan? Vaporizes? over flows? Should I worry about my emission control devices?

Great site and I am happy to be a part of it!

Richard

Always good to fine a site, fourms that has been on the net for awhile. Lots of gent's and doll's that's been there done that[sm=deal.gif]
Loss a 91 Gm Safari and needed a quick replacement for wife and kids. She always liked the caravan her mom has had over the years. Needed to fine such with what insurance was allowed. Not eazy with $3 K though do have a 97 GC 3.0 @ 146K.
Have always done all Vec. work on my truck and her van. The 97 was clean, rust free as though it had been Garage keep.
It's also Red,so is my wife. Amanda could be her twin sister[sm=Awwww.gif][sm=innoc.gif]
Problem though, now I know is a bad vavle on #4cyl. Ran rough once warm/hot. Did only a short test drive, more looking over the van[sm=badidea.gif]. Turned down a 99 GC cause the AC didn't work[sm=headbang.gif] and was only $400 more. I'm still hearing that one from the little red riding WIFE[sm=badbadbad.gif].
Nothing I can't fix with the help from The Dodge Forum[sm=goodidea.gif]
BTW cool Smileys
