Ok so I took the new truck in for service today . Explained the whole thing to them . The dealer put it through the standard test . The end result was that they found a service notice for the 2003 with some of the simptoms but not all. The next step was to check the TPS control. No luck there! So the dealer sugessted that I put a few more miles on the truck ???

Hmmm... that is dumb... but if they don't know, they don't know. I'm sure they aren't trying to screw you. I've worked in three totally different dealerships, and it certainly sounds to me that they don't want to keep charing you for hourly check out rates since they can't find it...

From what I've read, the only issue is what seems to be a rev limiter kicking in when it shouldn't... am I right? And it's only over 70 mph?

Without knowing anything else, that sounds like a PCM problem. There is a Rev Limiter in every PCM. It might not be 'thinking' correctly for some reason... You canalso get an aftermarket 'computer adjuster' and it'll give you the ability to mess with the PCM of your truck. But you can also easily mess up the truck worse, so that's up to you.

Also, your dealer likely cannot test your truck's issue, since it's over the Speed Limit in your area. The best way to overcome that is for you to ask to have the mechanic or service advisor ride with you while you drive, do the illegal speeding, so them the problem and bam... you might be fixed! LOL! Lotsof times a dealer can't test high speed issues because of speed limits.

So... I'm thinking it might be PCM... [maybe speed sensor?] related?
