Default New Ram owner

Just got my 08 Ram 1500 4.7 2 weeks ago. My dad has been a die hard Dodge Ram fan for 10 years now and I finally took the plunge. I love this truck! Getting Flowmaster 40 put on this weekend. STOKED!!! I think it sounds good already so I can't wait to hear it Saturday.

Default new guy ... returning to Dodge

I have had a dodge in the past (long time ago) Had two fords ( or should I say frauds) since my last dodge and now I am the proud owner of a RAM 1500 Quad cab 4x4 SLT with the 5.7 ltr HEMI, variable displacement engine. LOVE THIS TRUCK. I am new to this forum and hope to chat about various things pertaining to DODGE TRUCKS. My Truck is a 2007 model but it is new to me.

Default New guy to the forum

Hey whats goin on guys/girls? I've had my ram for a little while now its a '05 Ram 1500 QC SLT 4.7L, with cat back exhaust and an air aid intake. Before that i had a '05 Ram 1500 single cab with the 3.7L and a 6speed manual.

Other then that i'm a fuel cell mechanic on the B-1 for the airforce, and i race 4wheelers, i have a '04 yfz 450 that is blown up right now, eventually i'll be starting the rebuild on that.....

Default Michigan Mopar Man

Ok, I'm a "newbie" even if an old one. I'm Greg. I live near Dryden, Michigan. I own 17 Mopars, mostly classic muscle, but also including 4 Dakotas, including my current project, a '90 Dakota convertible, converted to a 400 + stroker small block. The rest include: '69 Cuda - stroker 340 (goes like stink), '70 Barracuda - 318, '70 Cuda AAR (another current project), '71 Duster 340 - stroker 340, '72 Duster 340, '72 Cuda 340, '88, '93, '94 Dakotas, '94 Viper and '05 Neon SRT 4. For daily drivers: 02 Jeep Liberty, '90 Dodge Ram diesel, '08 Caliber RT AWD. Also a few parts cars around... Do I have anything for sale? EVERYTHING is ALWAYS for sale! I just don't bother trying...

I'll figure out how to adapt the power steering on the '90 Dakota vert on my own I suppose, (3.9 V6 to small block, either early or Magnum style), but any input from someone who has done this would be appreciated. Also, suggestions on the fuel system and ignition system...

I spent many years working for Chrysler at several plants, including at Hamtramck Assy (Dodge Main) where I was a chassis foreman, general foreman and superintendent over the years. I was a young, hotrodding engine line foreman when we built the Hemicudas, AAR's, and all the rest of the A and E body muscle (Chargers too). Yup, I've got lots of stories to tell... and myths to explode. I was THERE! For instance, the blather about "matching numbers" is really amusing. Did anyone ever bother to tell the story about what we did when the numbers were mistakenly stamped wrong at the factory? (many were) We darn sure didn't throw away the engine and trans! We re-stamped them... after "removing" the incorrect numbers. Wanna know the process? Ask.

I hope to have some fun here... learn much and perhaps pass on what I know, for anyone interested... Us older Mopar factory rats will all be gone in a few years, so for anyone who asks, I can shed some light on what it was really like in the plants that built these great machines. It wasn't always fun... but it sure was never boring!
