If Your A Newbie, Post And Introduce Yourself
#3511
Hello everyone my name is Dariusz (my friends call me Tiny) I'm 36 years old and happily married with 2 awesome boys and my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport with the 5.9l Magnum. This is my second Dodge truck. My first was a 1989 Sno-Commander with a fuel injected 360. The truck was a beast and drove like a brick. But what ever job i threw at it , it always completed it with no problems. I sold it to a buddy of mine and bought the 2000 because it was a extended cab and gives me lots of leg room( I'm 6'9" tall). I bought my 2000 from a Saturn dealership it was a trade in. The body is o.k. has some slight dingers all over. Within the past 2 years i have changed the following:
Hughes thick plate kit and bolts for the belly pan of the intake.
Superchips tuner
Stainless steel headers
Flowmaster exhaust with big block muffler 3"
Airaid throttle body spacer
Airaid cold air intake kit
Had transfer case resealed
Skyjacker shocks and steering damper
Pioneer cd player and Sony speakers
I use my 2000 Dodge for daily transportation and to tow my car trailer around. I also own a 1971 Chevy Nova i drag race. There is a lot more i want to do to my truck or maybe sell it and buy a 2005 Dodge 1500 laramie. They look like a more modern verison of my 2000 sport. The only thing i hate about my 2000 is the rough idle that comes and goes and the WORLD FAMOUS PING!!!!! Both of these have been a major pain in my a**. I can't even tell you how many parts i have changed and how many times i borrowed my friends scanner, but for now i can live with it. Well that's it for now and i hope to pick up some knowledge and tricks about my truck.

Welcome to DF Swink! I have always found the Dodge engines to be tough as nails. I havent killed one yet If you check out the 1st Gen Ram Section I think you 'll be able to find just about all the answers to any of the questions you may have. There is a good group of ppl in there also.
