RE: If Your A Newbie, Post And Int
Hello everyone! Glad to be here with you folks. Listed below are just a few of the Dodge/Chrystler vehicles I have owned and enjoyed. In addition I have owned 6 Caravans - 1985 LE 2.4L, 1988 LE 3.0L (much faster, better handling), 1991 Grand Caravan (more appointed), 1993 Grand Caravan ES (white, sharp looking), 1996 Grand Caravan ES (new body style, much better ride, handling, quieter) 2000 Grand Caravan ES (black, factory 17" rims) Also in addition to the 2000 Durango I currently own, I had a 1998 Durango w/ the 5.2. Great vehicle with absolutely no problems for the 60,000+ miles it had when I traded it in.
My real claim to fame here is that I was chosen back in Sept. 1990 to appear in a series of Dodge testimonial commercials that ran prime time from Nov. 1990 to Feb 1991. The commercials were called "Welcome Home to Dodge" for all the people supposedly comming back from owning imports. Because I was a curent owner of a 1991 Spitit R/T and a 1991 Caravan I was interviewed by BBDO, Dodge's ad agency at that time. My family and I were flown to Denver from Milwaukee and the shoot took place in the mountains 75 miles west of Denver. Were talking waredrobe, make-up, lighting, full production stuff. The commercial opened with the announcer saying "Tom Metz came back to Dodge", and my line was "Its no boy racer, its a real automobile" which was taken from a 20 minute interview. Another shoot took place in Jan. 1991 in front on a red R/T (they said thet wanted to sell more red R/t's). I have all the vhs tapes and it is something I will always treasure. BTW/ the commercials way more than paid for the R/T. I had to put that in because everyone asks when they hear the story.
For now, I will enjoy my 2000 Durango dreaming about the STR-8 300C. Anyone here from Dodge?, I have experience

I'm not new, but it's been a few months since I've been able to get on. Sorry! But I'm gonna try to be on more often. Work has slowed down a bit now and we have more time for things like this. Woo Hoo![sm=yeahsmile.gif]

What up everyone. New to Mopar and this site and just want to say that I love em both. I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4.7L V8 that I just bought in May of 04 and I totally fell in love with it as soon as I took it for a test drive. The previous owner took great care of it and did a lot of after-market add ons like Flow Master 3" catback exhaust, Air Raid cold air intake with K&N filter, clear corners and carbon fiber altezza break lights, roll back toneau cover, all around limo tint, viper alarm system, power tailgate lock, spay-in bed liner, a bad *** Nakimichi sterio, MTX Thunderform box w/ 10" Kickers and a Kicker 400w amp. Got a real sweet deal on it and havent looked back since. Anyway, I'll throw a pic on...just just wanted to say hi and that I like the site.

Surfed by this site for awhile; finally have joined. You guys have the best site on the net, it clearly has the most information for us dodge fans!
I recently purchased a 2004 Ram 1500, 3.7 – 5 speed, for me as my “toy.” I commute about 30 miles each way to work, and decided it is cheaper to have one “toy” that is a daily driver than to have my old car AND my ’67 barracuda alternate as drivers. Another reason for the pickup was because I do not have time to spend on the Barracuda, at least not until my boys get into cars, so I have a “ready made” sweet ride until that time comes. Further, the pickup made me a hero with my 2 boys (ages 7 and 5)
I currently get about 18 MPG for each tank of gas, I will be upgrading things incrementally, and plan on charting the increases/decreases of the MPG. Thanks again for this great forum!
(by the way, that’s my 7 year old in the back of the truck – he’s happy with the Ram!)
