Talking Virgin Truck Owner!

Hello everyone..

Well go figure. I'm 51 years old and just bought my first truck. Looks pretty clean for 169,000 miles. I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab SLT with the 5.9L engine.

It's got a nice fiberglass tonneau cover on the back. It was missing the locking mechanism, but I ordered it and installed it yesterday. Took the locking handle to a local locksmith and had a couple keys made for it, so now I'm all set to be able to lock up the bed.

I've heard about steering wobble and the $120 brace to fix it. Not sure how I feel about that yet. Anyway, I look forward to learning about the care and feeding of my new (to me) truck!

Those are nice trucks. Their biggest flaw is the plenum gasket and fried catalytic converters. If your truck isn't running limp then you have nothing to worry about.

The trucks seems to be running great! But mind you, since it's my first, I might be impressed with a "limp" ride.. But I've had a back catalytic converter before and know how it chokes out the power. So I'm thinking this one is safe. But I gotta say, I am feeling the need to go get a big black Stetson hat!
