Default Newbie... Owned 3 Dodge trucks and now 07 QC 4.7

Awesome site.. Look forward to helping out. Just bought an 07 1500 QC 4.7 with 100,000 on it. Changed all fluids and filters and replaced water pump and flushed coolant. Changed plugs, clutch fan and belt. 4.7 has to be one of the easiest motors to work on and as performance goes, beats 360 in my old 99 QC Sport 4x4. After I bought the truck and had the build sheet printed out, come to find out that it didn't come with 20" wheels and the speedo was 5 mph off. Had it reprogrammed at the dealer for the 20s. has 3.55 in the rear and turning 1800 on the tach at 70mph. I am getting 18.3 on the hwy and about 15.2 in the city. Not bad compared to my 99 QC 4X4...

Yeah I'd imagine you would be getting better fuel economy with the 4.7. My old '98 RCSB 5.9 4x4 got single digit MPGs riding on 35" meats. Might could just nip 11 mph on the highway IF I kept it at the speed limit. Current Hemi QCSB 4x4 gets about 13 in town and I can hit 16 on the open road, despite it weighing in at 7000 lbs. and also riding on 35s.

Good luck with it and welcome to the sight...

Thanks HammerZ71.. Main reason I sold my 99 QC 4X4 was the gas mileage. I was getting around 10-11mpg with 33s on it. Being married and two kids going into there teens, I am limited on my spending...lol For what I do and little 4x4 I do, I am seriously thinking about putting a locker in the rear and be done with it. I was leery about the 4.7 at first but, after test driving I was surprised with its pep. My work van, Chevy HD with 350 doesn't have the pep 4.7 has.. Thanks master tech look forward to seeing you two on here.. Cheers
