Default New MBR Just saying Hi

Just signed up, hoping to get some good use...and maybe be useful. Right off the start let me mention some immeadiate needs; aren't we all needy LOL

Just bought a 2008, 5.7 Hemi 1500. Don't know if there are any other identifiers yet (such as sxt, etc.).

What I do know is that I need a jack and handle assy for jacking the vehicle and lowering the spare tire (not one in this one when I purchased).

I am also looking for a pdf service manual (if I end up buying one, I will let everyone know and will figure out way to post it).

I am getting a rattle in left front as I travel over bumps and rough roads...any suggestions on what to check?

My truck has 82K plus, any suggestions on what I need to do for a good overall tune up. Besides oil, and general stuff like new plugs, filters etc,. Should I get the tranny flushed and filter changed too? How about the cooling system, would radiator flush be good idea? Am also considering changing fluid in the rear differiental? IS that a good idea?

Guess that is enough for a start....Thanks, Tony

Welcome to DF
You can buy the jack and handle from autozone or the wreckers. The rattle in the door, remove the door panel and inspect the inside of the door. The PDF service manual, Check out the 3rd Gen Ram section. Maybe someone there may have some information on a service manual.

Thanks for the quick reply. Some good info, do need to correct one thing the rattle is in the left front. Metal clanking sound when I hit bump. I look underneath and did not see anything obvious, will probably have to a mechanic.

Well have a little update: The rattle I mentioned in my first post turned out to be a blown left front shock. I am putting monroe sensa tracs on...at least as soon as rain stops. I also found a service manual, got it in PDF formation. It for 2002-2008. Still have not found the tool for lowering the spare tire (hopefully won't have a flat anytime soon). Was told by mechanic at place I bought the truck that he does not recommend flushing and chaning the fluid/filter even though the truck has slightly more than 82K now. He says that it could lead to other problems in the transmission (not sure if I agree with him). Anyone have any experience with doing a complete service on the transmission including doing a flush? Advice/input always welcome.

So far I love this truck
