Hi, all name is tony, new to any kind of forum,, reason for comin here is to look for help/ advice,,,have 1999 ram 2500 5.9 v8 quad cab,, (suicide door's) 134.000 mls good motor,,, heres the problem... Running down the road with travel trailer in tow,,fine when i get too a grade an put my foot in it,,the airflow to air vents,,, shuts the vents an blows to wind shield, when i get over the grade ease foot of the gas airflow return's to vents,, also only gettin about 7.5. 8mpg,, wonderin whether to sell the truck an buy something else,,,,dont mind spending a little money on it,,, but not gettin into $3/4000
of upgrades unless it work's,,, any advice,,, expert or knowledgeable help anyone,,,????

Does the vents work off of vacuum? If it does, then when you put your foot into the gas pedal. Then you are loosing vacuum, causing the vents to close.

 

i believe it does,or so ive been told,,have been told have to take out the dash,,to check it out,, but not by a shop i neeed to sort this out before i get into trying to economise the gas mileage,,,,? Is it possible this problem will affect the gas mileage,,??ps thanks for your reply,
