Default 2003 RAM 2500 Quad Cab LB 4x4 automatic transmission problem

The indicator light will not reflect that the transmission is in 1st gear.
But, for now it does go into 1st or the low gear.
What is causing this, and what issues may this cause in the future?

Welcome to DF

It maybe a loose lever at the transmission or the cable needs to be adjusted.

Thanks for the response, I had it in the local Dodge dealership for a tranny filter/fluid change and they did not check it as I requested. When I asked again, I was told it "could be" a valve body going bad and that repair was around $1400.00, but since the tech didn't report or see anything wrong, not to worry about it. I think it time to find another local Dodge dealership for my work since we have a few.
