my name is david holbrooks, and i saved my 86 d100 (2wd 318) from the crusher. i was looking for a weekend work truck under $1000. got a lead on this one at a junkyard. bought it on sight for $600. drove it home sucking gas out of an empty gallon jug under the hood! needles to say the first step was removing and rebuilding the original holley 2 barrell carb. the next item was the power steering pump, and it still doesn't steer as well as it should. this past weekend i replaced both front calipers and brake pads. this may sound like i'm "bad-mouthing" the truck, but i really like it. it fits my needs almost perfectly. (i want a 4wd for hunting and such, but my budget wouldn't afford one right now.) i will try to get around to posting pics of the truck (it has a super straight body, rough interior) after i look around the forum for a while.
