Default front seat for '98 2500

I've looked high and low for a replacement seat for my husband's '98 2500. I would really like one that matches and is in great condition. I need all 3 pieces (you know, so it matches?). So far my search has been fruitless. Salvage places don't have pictures so that's helpful. UGH! Any ideas??

Why are you replacing them? Is it due to the standard drivers side seat bottom falling apart? If so, is there an upholstery shop nearby that could fix it?

Default seat replacement

The driver cushion is very compressed, the fabric on both seats has torn possibly beyond repair and the plastic part on the driver side broke (don't know what it's called). I didn't realize finding a new or nearly new one would be so difficult, so maybe we'll have to go with repairs. I think I remember reading that there was a problem with the seat foam breaking down in some of the Dodge trucks so maybe that's what's happening or maybe because it has a lot of "butt miles" on it.

Thanks, I will look into repair.

There was a thread on here some time back where another member repaired his own seat..... it's been a while, but, should be searchable.

Yeah, that's a standard problem on the dodge trucks. One of the reasons finding a good seat is such an exercise. Both seat bottoms are pretty much the same, so if you can find a couple good passenger seat bottoms, they will bolt right in. Not sure if that applies to power seats as well though.

Welcome to DF! Post your question in the 2nd gen Ram section, I know at least one member there is parting their truck out. This section is more for introductions that discussions.
