Retired from insurance business. My Dodge is 2001 Ram 1500 quad cab, 5.9 automatic 4 x 4 . Love to drive this truck, it likes gas (no surprise), only unexpected disappointment was that the 3.55 rear end didn't come with limited slip. Bought for great price on online auction 13 months and 12,000 miles ago. (knew these are known for automatic trans problems and my bid allowed me to come in at wholesale even if I had to replace a trans) Currently it has developed an unusual and erratic and intermittent transmission shift problems I would like to get some input on.

Welcome to DF. Check out the 2nd gen Ram section. Plenty of info there on the weak transmissions in those trucks.
