I am an owner of a 2000 dakota with a 4.7L engine. Looking for advise on the various age related deficiencies, thanks for the Welcome.
My first question is, will I be able to replace the motor oil capacity gauge tube easily?

Welcome to DF!

Usually..... the tubes are just a snug fit into the hole in the block, and secured by a bracket somewhere. (not real familiar with the 4.7) They can be easy, or they can be a royal pain.... Hit it with chems where it goes into the block for a day or two before you try and remove it. Should help some.

Good Luck.
