Default New to DF and want a truck.

Moving back to the mid-west from South Texas and will need a used 4X4, or is that a $x$.
Anyway, I will be asking some questions in the next few months to narrow down which year Dakota will best serve my needs.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy meandering through the posts.

Welcome to DF. 2nd gen Dakotas (97-04) have more aftermarket support and I believe built a little better than the 3rd gens (05-11, at least as far as front end parts go). The later 2nd gens with the 4.7 are pretty good trucks. Not discounting the 5.2 or 5.9 but you don't have to deal with the pesky plenum issues with the 4.7. Post up in the Dakota sections. They can answer your questions.

Thanks for the welcome. I've enjoyed the south but miss Ohio weather. Snow/ice/mud/hills, etc. Just need a good year-round work & play vehicle to throw some money at.
