Another Noob needs help
Not sure if I'm in the right group.
We bought a 1978 Sportsman Class C Overland motorhome from the widow of original owner. They drove it 2 seasons to Southern Az, put 6000 miles on it and parked it in the barn in 1980. Motor (440) was started regularly but they never cycled the dash AC. So now there's no cold. Hubs thinks that the seals may have crystalized and cracked, allowing the R12 to dissipate. Can anyone recommend a good company to buy the parts needed to upgrade to 134A?
This is my rendition of what all he was going on about, so if something's off I'll ask him again. It's a neat old MH in near mint condition. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. After consulting with him for what his concern is, he is wondering about the accumulator. He said he can get the conversion kit but read somewhere that you have to replace the accumulator once the system is opened. Our compressor is fine, he's confused about which receiver/dryer, accumulator to order. Rock Auto has some of what he needs.

They want you to replace the accumulator/dryer, as they media they put in there to absorb moisture is likely saturated at this point. If you pull a vacuum on the system, and leave it for an hour or two, the moisture *should* boil off...... So, worst case, you can try it....
Check the receiver you have now, see if there are any numbers on it. Maybe you'll get lucky.
