I've tried everything I can't get the heat shield off and can't get my socket on the spark plug I don't know what else I can do to get it off I don't know who had this truck before me but I would love to meet the guy that had it so I could smack hima couple times its a 2000 dodge ram 1500 4x4 and this is the first time the plugs have been changed..can anyone give me some advise on how to get it off

 

They can be a real pain...... Don't worry about destroying them, just rip them out. Many folks have removed them, left them off, and suffered no ill effects.
