Default What cam to use?

98 ram 1500, 5.2 mag, 2wd. Thinking about a rebuild, was looking at getting a cam from comp cams. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations, truck will be used for hauling yard material. Maybe for towing. So some extra torque would be nice.

So go with a nice RV cam, or one specifically designed to operate in the lower RPM range. Trouble is, you can only go so far, before you need to address the PCM, and get a custom tune to get the most out of your cam... (another 500 bucks or so.) An easy upgrade though, is installing the harland sharp 1.7 ratio roller rockers. Makes you cam think it is bigger than it really is. 350-400 bucks, and a couple hours work.
