Default What kind of upgrades are appropriate?

I own a 98 dodge ram 1500. I am looking to start customizing it. I'm just wondering what size tire would be great to use on it and how big of a lift. I have 16" tires on it right now but I'm looking to upgrade to new rims which I can only find in a 20" or 17". I'm also thinking of getting at least a 2" lift on it. Please help.

Welcome to DF.

Check out the second gen ram section.

Upgrades depend on lot on what you want to be able to do with your truck. They range from inexpensive, to 'place your wallet on the counter, and step back'....... So, first things first, what DO you want to be able to do with your truck?

Head over to the 2nd gen Ram section as stated. Lots of good info there. My motto is always maintenance before mods. Have you checked your plenum yet?
