1998 Dodge 1500 4x4, 360cid, auto transmission, somehow the shift lever got disconnected from the transmission, the truck is stuck in neutral had it towed home, I have the factory Dodge service manual but there's nothing on the shift linkage, there's a little steel tab on the steering column that moves with the shift lever but it's not connected to anything. Anyone have any ideas or experience with this problem
Thanks JAY

There should be a rod between that metal tab, it's probably hanging somewhere underneath the truck. Just little plastic bushings that the rod snaps into to hold it in place. They degrade over time, and I would guess yours simply fell apart.
