Default Recovery tank issues

I have a 2016 dodge journey...2.4 engine. It kept overheating and we have replaced top radiator hose, radiator cap, thermostat housing, temp sensor, and the hose from the radiator to the recovery tank. Its not overheating anymore but coolant is going into the recovery tank and not going back into the radiator after vehicle cools off. Could i have a crack in my recovery tank? Any suggestions? I check my fluid and onlu habe to put maybe a cup in it to fill it up to the cap.

Did you replace the radiator cap? Is the cap correct?

Actually, that's the expansion tank. If you fill it to the very top, you're losing coolant out the over flow. There will be a line on the side of the tank labeled "hot". There's where it should be at operating temperature. Now, if it's going up but not back down, look for a pinhole leak on the hose or a loose connection. If it sucks air, the water won't move.

If the tank were leaking, it would leave a puddle on the floor. The hose from the radiator should go pretty close to the bottom of the recovery tank, in some fashion or other, so it's just a host that goes in there, others, the feed is molded right into the plastic. Easy enough to test if there is a leak, just tastes terrible. (and don't swallow it.....)
