Hi guys, thought I’d join up to do some research and learn a few things. My father in law has a bit of a collection of ‘79 Dodge D5Ns, and I’ve been eyeing one off to restore. Well the other day he caved and said it’s mine so I’m pretty happy. It has a 245 Hemi (pretty sure anyway), very straight all round, tiniest bit of rust in a couple spots and was only parked up a few years ago (undercover). He’s restored a number of these over the years so he’s going to be a wealth of knowledge.
I don’t have any pics on me, I’ll grab some next time I’m at his farm. Looking forward to learning lots here.

Welcome to the DF! I'm a noob here as well. I'd definitely like to see some pics of those inline Hemi 6's you guys have down there! We had lot's of slant sixes here forever (and they we're AWESOME before smog choked them out), but Chrysler never saw fit to release such an engine here. Everything I've read about those engines makes them really interesting, including the fact that they made a LOT of power!

Cheers guys. I reckon I’ll end up dropping a V8 in it eventually but for registration purposes to begin with I’ll leave the Hemi in. I’ve been reading up on the Hemi 6 and it’s meant to be a ripper little engine. I’m really looking forward to learning more about them and tinkering with this project.
