<Insert Normal NEW GUY Message Here>
Hello Everyone! I'm an IT guy by trade but I have slowly become a gear head over time. It kinda rubbed off on me from my Best Friend who is a foreign car guy and My Grandfather who has been a mechanic since like 1967.
Before I got my 1983 Ram I wanted something older and more unique. Boy how naive I was. But the Ram stole my heart.
The guy who bought this thing new off the lot was a local Township Supervisor. Unfortunately he was killed sometime in the early 2000's under mysterious circumstances. When my grandfather became the new supervisor the old supervisors truck was on the lot as it belonged to the township. The township had no need for it and it had sat since the supervisors death. My grandfather purchased it and immediately sold it to my dad. My dad used it for a few years as his daily driver. When i bought it from him it was in ok shape. A bad front fender and a bed that looked like swiss cheese on the bottom, and a seat that had seen better days. But still pretty damn solid all things said.
I grew up with vehicles with power everything. The only thing power on this thing was power steering. I love that. Hell it even has the floor mounted high beam switch.
My friends even gave it the nickname I still use for the truck today "Adventure Truck" why? because when my best friend drove it the gas gauge and speedometer didn't work. So quote "Everywhere you go in this thing is an adventure"
So here I am in my early 30's able to do something I have wanted to do for 5 years have a truck that I can enjoy and not just schlep couches around in.
Hummm... I may have made this post too long lol
