Hey, guys and gals! As the title states, I've always come here whenever I needed insight on my 2nd gen, and I've finally made an account.
I own a beautiful blue 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 2wd with currently 85k miles (it was kept curbside for years since he needed a more economy car and my aunt didn't like driving it lol). Forever grateful to have gotten it from my uncle in Cali who said I could have it if I could fly half way across the country and drive it back home to Texas - since that's apparently where all trucks go to retire haha. So I did...
It's got the 5.9 Magnum engine, 2wd drivetrain with GM's version of an "LSD" in the back (helped in a couple snowy situations), extended cab w/ the 8ft bed. It's not in perfect condition as the rear quarter panel on the passenger side has a dent, chips of paint in a few areas, and the rear fender driver side has sun damage to the paint - all this along with other minor imperfections.
The only "modifications" (if you will) I've done to it just changing the headlights to halos (a little overdone I know haha). Repairs is just replacing both window actuators since the slide on the railing broke. Other than that, it's practically bone stock - not even new wheels or anything. I even use an FM transmitter just to play music from my phone bc I'm too lazy to get a real head unit.
I plan on giving it a new paint job here soon whenever I can, and kinda bringing the front end up about 3in with a kit I've found just for the aesthetic I guess you could say.
I've gotten a few compliments here and there, and a lot of "it's so big and long ( ) how do you drive that thing everyday??" But truth is, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Point being, I love it and plan on taking care of it, and I hope I can grow my knowledge on this truck with you guys! Thanks for reading my intro!
