Hey from Minnesota, doone-cha-noo ! Buddy got me into Dakota's and now I'm hooked forever . (2004 and a 2005) The 2004 came from Tennessee a month ago and is rust free. On the trip back it lost power through the foothills of Nashville, I pulled into a town and it went back to normal ?? . I made it home fine and then it acted up some more, it finally sent me a PO307. I changed the plugs, old ones had electrodes burned down to the porcelain, and had a gap of 80 thou. New NGK platinum plugs gapped at 40 thou and the problem is solved (for now). I would like to get some dialogistic equipment, to test fuel pressures, injectors, coil pacs, and other basic electrical problems. Cheap quality meters ?? if there is such a thing !! Any help would be fantastic...

Thanks, ModellAADakota

A fair few of those tools can be rented from your local parts stores. (basically, you buy the tool, use it, bring it back, and get your money back....) Though, having tools is NEVER a bad thing.

Also, something to keep in mind is, they trucks REALLY don't like the rare-earth sparkplugs. They tend to cause more problems than they solve. Some folks have good luck with them, most, do not......
