Hello Dodge Forum
From the very south tip of Texas, enjoying our first sub-70 evening of the season...
Been a tinkerer and fixer since forever, at my Dad's heels. Let me give you my car biography...
1969 Ford Fairlane 2d Formal roof 302. First and sentimental favorite. 3 on the Tree and A/C what more could you want?
1973 Dodge Coronet 4d 318. My parents first NEW car. Dad made me get rid of the Fairlane for college
1975 Plymouth Satellite 2d rustbucket 318. traded for a cassette tape deck for my girlfriend. Block broke in my first freeze when I moved to Temple TX.
1984 Chevy S10 extended cab V6. Our first new car (wife's of course) $9500. loved that truck. Wrecked that truck after 14 years 120kmiles
1978 Buick Omega 4d 231 V6, 110 blazing HP. Dad bought it for my wife. Terrible engine. Would die in intersections.
1983 Dodge Caravan Minivan! I4,Mitsubishi. Great family vehicle. Fought the carburetor choke - it actually ran coolant through a passage in the carb to heat the actuator, and it would corrode up and choke it self to death.
1991 Dodge Grand Caravan Bigger minivan V6. Perfect family vehicle for us. You could stuff so much gear under the seats…. Zero problems.
1990 Ford Ranger extended cab V6. I drove it for about 5 years, then both my kids learned to drive stick and drove it 2 years each. Had to do head job at around 200k miles. Then drove it some more. Did a clutch job in the carport with my son. Got $500 trade in for the Ranger.
1998 Ford Expedition SUV V8 . Kids grew up in this one. And then I commuted to Mexico in it for a couple years. I turned the water pump into a shuriken by not changing the antifreeze…
1988 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible l4 3.5L. Perfect interior, disintegrating top, and early years in Detroit killed it with rust. Really liked the little car! 16 seconds to 60mph!!
1998 Dodge Dakota extended cab V8 . Dad gave this one to my daughter as a graduation present. She wrecked it in 2009
2001 Buick Century 4d V6. The Ranger was pretty beat up after 4 years of teenagers. I made the mistake of telling Dad I was looking…. He found this grandpa car for $5k and it was everything I needed and nothing I wanted… but it grew on me to the point I bought my daughter one a few years later.
2002 Chevy S10 '02 extended cab 4.3L V6 190HP. Daily driver, big engine in a light car. Still running, is my son in law's daily driver at 230k miles
2013 Toyota 4Runner Limited SUV 4.0 V6. Wife had tried a Rav 4 (too tiny! Scary tin can!) and a FJ (I can't get my dog in it! No back windows!) So she got this. It is our traveling car. 110k mi and no issues.
2005 Dodge Dakota 4 door SLT Magnum V8 4.7l 230HP. Inherited from my Dad. 58k miles. Lots of sentiment in that iron….
And hopefully in the future a 1969 Torino or Cougar....
Hope to share and learn here!
Will start a second post about the issue that brought me searching....

Gutless doesn't even begin to describe it.
