Hi I have a dodge dakota 2006 the transfer case was change and broke again I am not sure if the transfer case was different that the factory # the engine is a 4.7 and the trans is a 545rf very con fuse is a Part time 4x4 with a 4 low 4 hi dial inside the truck. can someone help me the dealer was no help they say it maybe a 233, 233d, nv233 I am very confuse please help so i can get the best for the truck. On ebay they even say that a 243 work? Please please help

 

Go here, feed it your VIN number. (case sensitive, so, all caps please) That will tell you everything your truck came with from the factory. Including which T-case.

 

With a 4.7 auto Dakota, your part time 4wd transfer case is the NV233.
There is a tag on it (see picture below) that you can double check is the same one in your truck now.
