Default Hello!

Hey guys, I'm Owen.

When I was about 4 someone made the fatal error of giving me a DVD of 'Twister'. Ever since then I've been completely obsessed with the second gen Ram.

Unfortunately, I live in the UK where we pay the equivalent of $7 per gallon for petrol/gas, which is probably why I've only seen 2 in my entire life.

An 8.0 V10 manual would be my preference (I'm only aware of one in the entire country) but if everything goes to plan I'll be picking up a 5.2 in the week!

I have a bad habit of buying lemons so I'm hoping I'll be able to pick your brains in the coming months. Nice to meet you.

With the price of petrol for you, be glad you couldn't find a V-10..... If I get 10 miles per gallon, I feel I am doing good. At the price you pay, I wouldn't be able to afford to drive it.

Welcome to DF! When you get your truck, post up some pics in the 2nd Gen ram section.

And yes, Twister was a great movie.

As long as you don't need a 4X4, and you don't plan to drive it FAST, look around for a V-6. For it's size, the 3.9 was a pretty peppy engine. There's a guy on Youtube who runs a shop and does a "Buy this, not that" series of videos. He says the 1994 through 2001 Dodge Ram pickups are all good years. I've got a '96 with the 5.9 (No, you can't have it. You couldn't afford the fuel.) and after I did a major tune up, it purrs like a kitten and the Flowmaster 44 exhaust makes it sound gooooood!

We're look at about a foot (about 30 centimeters) of snow in a day or so and I expect it to be one of the few vehicles on the road for a while. One thing to look at when you look at the truck, take the air filter off the throttle body and look down inside. If it's covered in oil, you have a leaky, if not blown intake plenum gasket. It's a reasonably imnvolved repair but when mine blew, I redid everything on the top and front of the engine. That's why it runs so smooth and even.
