New owner of 06 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn
Hi, my name is Jim and I am a new owner of a 06 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4X4. Friday, July 28th I traded in an 04 GTO for the new pickup as I couldn't pass up the offer from my local Dodge dealer and I also wanted another pickup as I have had a pickup while I have been with my wife since 1972 and was lost without one while owning the GTO. While looking at the pickup I was surprised at all of the storage places that this pickup has within the interior. I like the visibility in all directions from the drivers seat along with the quietness of the truck while driving down the highway. The Hemi provides adequate power and I'll wait and see how bad the fuel economy will be...might even be better than the Goat and again, maybe not!!! I have become a new member of this forum mainly so as to pick up some pointers and learn from other Ram owners. I will also scan the sponsers to see what they have available that I may be interested in. Hopefully I have made the right decision in buying the 06 Dodge Ram!!!
welcome to DF man!! the scroll down alittle and you see ower ram section, theres lots of good into in there and just shoot, either me, steve00ram360, or the burning rom a pm and will help you out. also when you get a chance make a gallery so we can all see your ram.
Congratulations on getting back into a truck, just signed up to the forum myself, been trying to get my son to trade in my old 97 Ram and take my 02 Ram so I can get a new one myself! The 02 is my 3rd Dodge Truck, don't think you will be disappointed, every brand has it's ups and downs, I know I've owned Chevy's, GMC's and even a Madza at one point, been happy with Dodge since my 1992 Ram 1 ton dually with the Cummins Turbo.

y2k,
Great choice on the RAM. Don't worry about the gas mileage, your foot will determine that. The quad cab and 4x4 option will more than make up for it. Sitting high and owning the road is the way to go.

Although this is a late reply...I want to thank everyone for your welcome comments to the Dodge Forum. I am happy so far with the Ram except for Dodge not installing the rear wheel well liners. I did pickup a set of rear wheel well liners at a Seattle area Dodge dealer and installed them along with a set of front and rear OEM molded splash guards. As coming with the 20" wheels and being short on one end...I also installed a set of stainless side steps. As far as the bed I got a set of Putco Boss Lockers SS and then had the bed Rhino-Lining coated to the under rail specs. Rear tail lights have the Rams Head tail light covers painted in Flame Red. Have the AVS In-Channel VentVisors 4 piece set coming and that should be the end of my mods until I come across something else that comes to mind. What a person won't do to their new toy!!!
