Hello all,

Ok so here goes: I just bought my 1996 Ram 1500 Club Cab Laramire SLT last night, its not only my first car purchase on my own but my very first Dodge. I've wanted one my whole life and finally got one. It's got 4 brand new Goodyear Wranglers on it for the winter, got the sales guy to go from 14K to 10,500. I love everything about it. I never owned a truck, just 4 door cars.I know hardly anything about Rams, so i've beenreading posts and learning a lil so i'm definately going to stick around here so i can learn and getthe most out of my toy. I'm more interested in performance then looks, i want the best out of it that i can. here are the first pics, sorry bout the pics being at night and dirty, Central PA just had a bad snow store but i was way to anxious to get on here posting so i can learn about my new toy

well looks like you got the exhuast mod, important one at that, so how does she sound? does she have an aftermarket intake? If you need any styling or anything talk to Justin from Truck Xpressions. he'll hook you up. well welcome

the answer to thenext question by [)oclgefre4k it has the 5.2L V8.

I already posted a question in the Ram forum about MPG, i'm hearing about not only the K&N air filter but the intake, because i want to get my MPG up as high as i can so the only question i have is, what do i have to do to get the best mpg i can

yes it is a 4X4 and before this i never drove a 4x4 before. and the night i got it, central pa got 5 inches of snow so when i drove it off the lot it was in four wheel and it was a different ride. Its got the manual 4x4 shifter.

question: when should i use the overdrive, it was explained to me but i forget most of it, cuz now i have it engaged. I feel like such a idiot for asking that but hey i guess that comes w/ being a newbie right?

thanks to all for your help so far

ok, turn it OFF when towing!

play with it a little bit you wont break it.

with it on you are basicly in a higher gear...you will notice your revs go up when you turn it off.

for gas milage keep it on. the only time I turn mine off is when I am getting ready to run with some one!

as for MPG: I posted another reply over there...but there is a lot of stuff to do that will increase HP some helps MPG...some hurt!

intake, exhaust, and headers all help as does the performance computer...though with the puter you have to run prem gas

Thats what i thought about the OD i keep it on, i did notice that the rpms did go up, esp when i was on the Turnpike, so i put it back on. The only thing that sucks is that the cruise doesn't work, but i just talked to my sales guy and even though its not under their limited warranty they're going to fix it anyway cuz i just got it on friday night. Yeah i'm reading your posts over there as well in the mpg post of mine, what all does the performance computer entail, like i said, i don't know anything, so i'm going to be asking a lot and gain as much of everyones knowledge as a i can
