Default Would love y'alls opinion..

I screwed up and traded off my 04 Dakota V8 because I "thought" I couldn't afford the gas, but now realize it was a huge mistake; so basically here's my question......The only 2 Dodge's I can find in the color I want is a Dakota but with a V6 and TRX package, and the 1500 with the 4.7...I'm waiting to see what kind of dscnt they're going to offer because both are 2006's..Sticker on the Dak is $25650 and on the 1500 QC it's $28500.......So which would y'all recommend, and thanx big time for even reading this...

The 1500 is a Quad Cab ST with cruise and the V8..And the Dak is pretty much exactly what I want EXCEPT for I really wanted the V8...I'm guessing a lot of it might depend on which one they're going to discount more really...Don't really "need" the 1500 size but hey, if they put a 12K dscnt or so on it and only a $4k-5K on the Dakota then I really don't see why I wouldn't get the 1500..................I've always enjoyed the mid size trucks for maneuverability and such but....Anyhow, guess I'll just see what they offer to sell them for manana...Have a great one ! and thanks

I've only driven the newerRam with the Hemi and it's fairly impressive for such a heavy vehicle. The Dakota is somewhat smaller, but very heavy and I think you will be more happy with the 4.7L Ram.

Thanx a bunch roadrunner but now was "told" by the fiance' ((ok, not told but I appreciate her input)) that she would much rather me have a Dakota versus full size just for her comfort zone...Soooooo, one of the dealers is offering to sell me an 06 Dakota QC ST TRX 2WD V6 for $18000 even, which is $7500 off MSRP, so guess I'll go drive it tomorrow......To be honest, I'm just worried I won't like the 3.7 even though I'll never haul or tow anything anyhow...Just always preferred V8's I guess..Just gotta see how it drives but don't wanna make another mistake by buying a V6 and wishing I would have waited for a V8....What a pain huh ?? ha ha

In that case check to see whats available for the V6 to help give it the extra power your looking for, check in the Dakota section for recommendations on mods for it.

I would see if you can find the one you want with the v8... nothing sucks more than settling for a smaller engine...

welcome to df...

Welcome to Dodge Forum!! I prefer the Hemi as well, but if, no make that WHEN, gas prices go up again, you'll appreciate the smaller engine......
