On something with that many miles Id be safe and go with a 50 shot seeing as how you have not built up anything. Take my advice man if you do it dont go over 50.

I wouldnt even do that on a truck with that many miles...if you are going to mod do it right!! Start getting that thing breathing easier first!! cold air intake and exhaust...ported throtle bodie and headers!! then you can start thinking about nos. but I wouldnt....

Buddy of mine was running 100 shot for about 2years on his 96 5.9 with the same mileage as u with no problems. He had a KnN ontop of a M1 intake with a msd 6al n 8.5mm wires. 100 shoton an Indy was good for 1.5 second reduction in ets on the 1/4@ a 700' elevation. Personally Id go a 75 shot.

Helped him toss in a 408 couple months back. He's going 200-250 on the stroker motor, can u say 11s

If you run a 1 step colder plug (autolite) and put a better coil in you can run a 75 shot with no problems...make sure you have the stock computer because you don't want any advance. If your motor is still strong and hasn't had any major problems you'll be ok...just don't go over 100 shot...too much detonation. I have 75,000 miles on my 5.9 and was running a 75 shot on the street and 100 shot on the strip and never had any problems. And to be honest, the main reason you don't want to go over 100 is not because the "bottom end is weak" it's because over time you'll blow your head gasket and you have to run High octane gas to avoid pinging (which can damage any engine). Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

if you do it use a wet kit and then you would probably be fine with a 75 shot

as cool as all this sound why would you want to do this on a 4x4, why take the risk on blowing the motor.
