HELP!!! Boost Gauge Install 04 Cummins 600
Have a mechanical boost gauge for my turbo diesel. Cant find anywhere to tap into to get a boost reading without drilling into some something. Can this be avoided or am I just wasting my time. If it cant be done does anyone know of an Electronic Boost Gauge or what it hooks up to? Or better yet does anyone need a brand new boost gauge and pod?
Unfortunately no, I have yet to see an electronic boost guage. You need to tap in (using a tee) to the line that goes from the intake manifold over to the fuel pressure regulator solenoid in order to install that. Hopefully this works out for you.
BTW, what Gauge do you have?

actually I have found an electruc boost guage on the autometer website. several actually. The guage I have is just the plain ole boost vaccum setup. you can go to the autometer web page and find any one of them though. Im probrably going to sell mine if you know anyone who wants it. its never been used
Hey, I've got some info for you. I'm not sure if Dodge changed the layout of the engine betweent he years 1999-2004 but this should help you indentigy what you need to look for in order to install that thing.
Fuel System Components - 24-valve Cummins Turbo Diesel engine.
1. Fuel Transfer (Lift) Pump
2. Fuel Return Line (to Fuel Tank)
3. Fuel Supply Line (Low Pressure, to Engine)
4. Fuel Heater
5. Water-in-Fuel (WIF) Sensor
6. Fuel FilterlWater Separator
7. IA T Sensor
8. Map (Boost) Sensor <===Just left of this is the test port. You will need a 1/2 inch drive extension and a ratchet. You should be able to take the plug out without any problem. Once you have the plug out, install the 3/4 inch NPT to 5/8 inch NPT bushing, then the 5/8 inch NPT to 1/8 inch NPT bushing. Then the 1/8 inch NPT to hose fitting.

I hope this helps. But like I said, it's from a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins Turbo Diesel so I'm not sure.

The electric boost gauges are new, they never use to have them before. Their line of full sweep electric gauges are new and the electric boost gauges are only available in the full sweep electric gauges, that is why I said they were not made because the last I knew they weren't.[sm=sorry.gif]
