First Extended Service Corporation
BEWARE: and make sure you know exactly what you are paying for.
First off, First Extended Service Corporation has the worst consumer reviews and more complaints then any company I have ever researched, my own experience was more than unsatisfactory, I recently purchased a 2010 Dodge Dakota Big Horrn And the salesman also sold me an extended Power Train 36 months or 36,000 mile warranty through First Extended for $1395.00, well my truck is broke down around 37 miles from Fairfield a starter issue I believe, so I got a ride home and looked at my warranty because at the time of purchase I seem to remember the salesman telling me that towing was included as I planned on having my Dodge towed to Fairfield for repair well of course the starter isn't covered under my warranty,” kind of reminds me of that commercial you picked the wrong policy”, guess I did in more ways than one, now you also have to understand that the extended warranty is an agreement between you and the selling dealer, in my case First Extended only ADMINISTERS THE AGREEMENT for the selling dealer, under 24 Hour Roadside Assistance-towing, it says I am covered up to $80 per occurrence if the service is provided by calling 1-800-270-8447 which I did, after going through the menus I got to listen to elevator music for I would guess a good 20 minutes when a live person finely picked up the phone I found out that Nationwide Claims sends a tow truck and they charge a $79.00 hook up fee which includes 10 miles anything over 10 miles is my responsibility and Nationwide has no idea what the towing company charges per mile, I ask if I could have a local garage that I know would only charge me $80 to tow it for me and they told me if I didn't have their people do the job there would be no reimbursement so needless to say I just hung up and am paying to have my truck towed to my house and fix it myself, all in all unless I have a catastrophic power train failure within 10 this $1395.00 extended warranty is pretty much useless, so buyer beware, read the fine print, research First Extended Service Corporation, and first and foremost remember you are dealing with Car Salesmen.
