Chevy ss
last I knew there were all diff sized hemis in the 50s the hemispherical motor used in drag cars that broke so many records was 331...cubic inches(or around there) not to far from todays hemis. Just b/c the 426 was the most common doesnt mean that todays arent true hemis...its all in the design...
and just cuz they slap r/t badges on dodge cars doesnt mean poopy, they are built differently usually w/ upgraded susp. and a little more HP. Just cause they dont have super or turbo chargers on em doesnt make them less deserving...I thought the badge stood for "road and track" back then, now they have SRT "street racing technology" Where the srts have the steroids GM failed. We will remember the SS badge will always suck w/ their ss s-10s and montecarlos that werent so super after all. Dont ask me what the R/t/t stands for all I know is they are twin turbo or rt/truck.

Same reason Dodge marketing uses R/T and Charger labels on some vehicles that don't quite fit the bill. It takes more than badging... but the boys in the boardroom could care less about tradition when it comes to hyping the bottom line.
Oh dont get me wrong the ss of the 60s and 70s were very nice...I would love to own a 64 imp ss convertible. As far as todays marketing schemes go nothing is what it once was. Thats why getting back to the basics is important.

Some of these marketers and advertisers could sell ice to eskimoes.
I'm pretty proud of my 95 "SS" also:

Though it doesn't quite look like that right now. [X(]
That was the day I brought it home from the body shop. The next day it was rearended at a light. I haven't driven it since... The rebuilt engine failed right around the same time and it has been sitting at my shop as a test platform for over 4 1/2 years now. The good news is I will be dropping an engine in tomorrow and possibly starting it for the first time. It will be with a stock engine however, because we are going to be doing a few different turbo systems for the Impala. Anyways, I love my Impala SS! Weather it has been running or not.
