i run a monte forum, and there are a few new SS drivers, and evidently, the car really runs well...i think that the FWD is a bit odd, but the engine has some *****, from what ive heard.

 

All in all I'd have to say that GM produces either the most ugly vehicles on the road, or the most boring vehicles on the road. I love Chrysler, but I'm not completely biased. I'd say I like at least one design by every manufacturer. But for originality, quality, tactfulness, and that little something that makes me excited about a car, I put GM at or near the bottom of my list. Oh yeah. This Monte Carlo sucks.

 

That car looks exactly like the Impala and the interior is so weak. They could have atleast went two toned

It isnt an ugly car; its kinda plain...no big changes except for the grille and headlights. Yes; the front end does mirror the Impala, but dont all Dodges have the same front end design?......YES! Do I like Chevy Impala/ Monte front end?...its ok, but not ugly. I do like the interior change though; its a cleaner and smoother design than the past Monte. For those of you complaining that its FWD; its been front wheel drive for over 15 years, and still is a quick car. What is it with all of you that think FWD cant be sporty and fast...its the fact that you cant peel out like you can a RWD. It isnt due to speed; because the front wheel drive car will kill the RWD car; due to the RWD car is still at the line peeling out. I do like rear wheel drive cars, but in most cases I'd rather have FWD; especially here in Iowa.

 

How are sales on those things anyway? I never see them

Hmmmm, every RWD vehicle I've ever owned had great weight transfer to the rear wheels during a launch. FWD cars during a hard launch, the weight goes to the rear, and the front tires go up in smoke. Not many FWD cars are posting sub 2 seconds 60 ft times. That is unless their on sticky tires. Next time your in D-town Spear_em, give me a PM and I take you for a few rides around town.[sm=alcoholic.gif]

 

Considering this fugly p.o.s. is still around and the Camaro is not, should tell you something.

Also, the Monte Carlo just looks too rounded with straight lines. The Stratus R/T isnt the sexiest car on the planet, but it looks better then the Monte, interior included!

 

It's not just the front end that resembles the Impala.
