I know that they have already quit making the Ford GT. And I personally think that the Lincoln Mark LT will also fail. Just because it looks like a chromed out F-1 Shi++y.

Ford should have learned to stay out of the minivan market when they cancelled the Aerostar.

My only concern is that Chrysler has continued to lose sales to these Japanese and Korean manufactures in this market as well. Back in '99 Chrysler had 45% of the market, now they have something like 35-37% I read somewhere. I think the update that they will be offering in '08 will take back many customers and make Japanese and Korean manufactures crap their pants with how competitive it will be. They will no longer have the advantage in acceleration and although a minivan is not purchased because of the acceleration and performance, it sure doesn't chase them away either. I'm glad Ford is dropping out. The transmissions they used sucks. I'm yet to meet someone who has been able to put over 100,000 miles let alone 200,000 miles on that crappy Ford tranny, and those engines sucked down a lot of fuel without much power to show for it. Dodge will probably get the bulk of the Freestar customers since most of them had to be Ford fans anyways that would rather own a domestic over a Japanese van.

Valid point, srtommy and LOL, whoosh, on how Ford should die.

my friend has an aerostar with over 215k miles on it and we try to kill it but no luck. we put it in park when driving try jumping curb. put it in reserve when driving. pretty much ruined all the shocks. it just keeps going. like wtf.

I was refering to the Windstar/Freestar, but funny story Nick! The Aerostar was pretty reliable, it had a better transmission than the Windstar/Freestar.

I kinda hate to admit it but we own a Town and country and have had alot of stupid problems...when are lease ends we are looking elsewere.....DC better wise up and start fixing some things,,,,,,,Brakes, Trans, AC, Sway Bushings, Sway links... This van has cost us the most of any vehicle we have owned as far as upkeep goes...And our dealer is horrible. ...They just changed the name again...now its Connicelli.......i tell people the Con is for Con-artists
