Has anyone ever figured out both the
[ul][*]HW data link serial protocol (like J1850 or TI SIA)[*]PCM communications language (what codes perform what functions)
[/ul]This was a year before OBD II and I want to be able to perform diagnostic service on this vehicle, but I do not want to pay the ridiculous prices for a scan tool when I can cobble a serial I/F to USB pod for less than $50. I thought I'd better ask around first before tearing into the PCM.
I have read a few comments that it uses OBD I, but I cannot find any specification for that. It seems that OBD I was defined as whatever proprietary HW serial and code protocol each manufacturer was using at the time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
