Default 1999 V6 ram 1500 fuel pump doubts.

tomorrow , i will replace my trucks fuel pump. i have looked at some articles on how to replace it. my doubts are:

since my pump was tampered with before there is no line going out the fuel pressure regulator. so its just there (fuel pump regulator). the line that connected to the fuel pressure regulator was stuck in a hole that a "mechanic" made. so the fuel goes directly from the tank to the engine. the line that connected to the fuel pressure regulator doesn't seem to have a proper connector. what can i do to connect this line properly to my new fuel pump fuel pressure regulator?

also, what is the vacuum line and why does my truck has two evaporation lines that dont seem to connect to the fuel pump?

thanks
