Especially wearing one of those "Snoopy" flying helmets and a pair of goggles!!! Hey, I used to do that back in the late 60's when I was in college and had a VW Bug!!!! "Anti-establishment!!!!"

I'm getting a job at the small airport here. Somebody told me I should get some fuel from the pumps there for the propeller planes and put it in my truck when I race. Is that a good idea?
I just got done talking to my father, who is on a small airport board, for a couple statistical facts about fuel for propeller planes. It is leaded gasoline and at the airport where he is on the board, it costs $4.00 per gallon, it has 100 octane, and he claims it would probably be illegal to run in any cars or trucks because it does not include road taxes. If you got caught, you could get into trouble. It does not offer any real benefits to an engine that does not need octane that high. Even if your engine does not have a catalytic converter, lead can still leave deposites in the engine. If you want higher octane that bad, I believe you can purchase some octane booster at places like autozone.

Av gas belongs in airplanes, not cars, formulation way different than for below 5000 foot automotive piston engine type fuels. 100LL is 100 octane low lead content Blue in color, 100L is 100 octane lead added Green in color, 130L hard to find nowadays lead added Purple in color, same lead content as 100L.

Use of Octane rating for feeding your engine is dictated by compression ratio and b.m.e.p. putting 100 plus octane in a engine that needs no more than 89 octane will not increase power output.

F&L racing fuels:
111 fuel up to 14:1 n.a., Green
113 fuel up to 15.5:1 n.a., Lt.Green
118 fuel up to 18:1 and 35 p.s.i. boost, Red
X101 unleaded up to 12:1 with aluminum heads R+M/2 101 rating,Purple
X105 unleaded up to 14:1 moderate boost, Yellow

Blending race fuel with pump gas will raise R+M/2 rating slightly but why bother contaminating good race fuel with pump swill?
Blending 100LL with pump gas will raise R+M/2 rating slightly and may help above 10,000 foot altitude!

They sell 110oct Pro Fuel at the track I go to. It makes my truck faster, only because of the weight reduction to my wallet

well, it has been said here, and i kno it because my family is in the aviation business, av. gas has lead in it. So, if you are really worried about the lead, which i would be, look for 100LL. LL as in Low Lead. Just thinking.
