could somebody explain to me what vapor lock actually is in the fuel system and what may cause it?

 

I think its when the fuel line runs to close to a heat source (headers, exhaust) and the liquid fuel turns to gas due to being exposed to that heat. In efect its burned up befor ever making it to the cylinders. I could be wrong and thinking of something else though
