Not sure what towing capability has to do with this thread? I simply posted track times - kind of gives you a point of reference where we stand in the acceleration pecking order. Nothing more was stated or implied.

I had a 3.5L Satrurn VUE that was killer fast
With all due respect, 0-60 in 7 seconds and the 1/4 mile 15.5@89 is not "killer fast" by any standard. I'd call that tolerable - maybe even peppy, but certainly not "killer" fast.

Nope, the minivan can't tow 6000 lbs, but again this thread isn't about towing, so I'm not sure what your point is. In any case, I rarely see a Dakota towing anything, much less 6000lbs. Buying avehicle for something that you will never realistically need to do doesn't make any sense.

"..anything thats lighter will be faster." You didn't really mean that, did you? That statement is so ludicrous I will just assume that you mistyped.

Getting beat by a minivan isn't so bad. Your 318 Dakota is still slower than about 90% of the cars on the road.I know of a couple minivans that would beat you so bad they'd be finishing the 1/4 mile before you werehalfway down the track.

There is always someone faster. You best defense is to know thine enemy. Take your truck to the track and post a timeslip. Until then,you should probably be careful pointing fingers - you may be unpleasantly surprised how many cars out there are faster than you. Hell, my buddy ran his 1999 Buick Regal (the 4 door, front wheel drive,grandpa-looking one) with 103,000 miles on it to a 14.4@92mph bone stock. That's probably 1.5 seconds quicker than you Dakota, but you probably think Regal's are just old folks cars and wouldn't consider it a threat. I had a 2001 Regal that looked and sounded stockand ran a 13.4@106.It surprised a couple unsuspecting automatic C5 Corvettes. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Well only an idiot would think a Regal is just an old fokes car... because the Regals have a larger engine then most buicks as well as they used to be older Muscle-Style cars...the century on the otherhand is for the majority an old fokes car... my buddy loves his century and wants to make it like a regal... but thats all buick crap anyway... as far as acceleration... it all depends on what you've done to the truck...yes our trucks are slow...but that doesn't mean you can't make it much faster...although its even harder with an auto because of the delay of the throttle due to the torque converters...

Well excuse me, the vue was killer fast for a small suv. It shocked the heck out of alot of people. I had intake and a TRD exhaust on it and that saturn ran a consisitant 6.6 0-60 on my gtech timer. The gtech is pretty accurate as it pegged my M3 at 4.7 0-60 (that is fast) Lets see your mini van run that :}
