So, as Im driving to a meeting yesterday in the stratus, Im sitting at a light and I am aware that next to me is an early 90s thunderbird with two high school aged turds blaring what sounded like the stock radio. They are both staring at me and over the sound of their terrible stereo i can hear them making jokes about me driving a dodge stratus (because a thunderbird is up there with a bentley). They were your typical "pretty fly for a white guy" morons..hats on sideways, one had a bandanahanging out of his hat,and it looked like one had a jacket on, even though it was around 90 degrees.

annoyed by these morons, i turned my subs on, and let them hear what something other than a stock system sounded like...the light turned green, and we pulled away, and i could see them weaving to get behind me, and they followed me onto the highway. we were in a construction zone, in traffic, so i wasnt going to screw around, so when these two turds came flying up on me, i got out of their way, and they drove away...but as we neared the end of the construction, where the road goes to 3 and 4 lanes, i found myself behind them, so as the road got wider, i swung out around them...with the AC on i pulled around them in 4th gear and dropped back into 3rd, which got their attention. try as they might, they werent able to keep up...so i slowed down and they caught up, and we hit a long stretch with no cars in front of us for a long way, so we would take off...i would get up around 120 or so, and they would be bus lengths back...so i would slow down and they would catch up, but although there was no doubt in my mind that my car was faster, i just didnt want to give these two wanna be homies the pleasure of getting around me...so i would shift and pull away from them. over and over. finally, i saw them get all the way to the right to exit, and as they went past me in the off ramp, i waved, and they both flipped me off.

while the stratus is certainly no rocket,i find that i waste my time screwing around with these high school morons in their beat up, slow *** cars...and i dont know why...i seem to have an addiction of sorts. an addiction to putting morons in their place.

i cant wait until the demon and laser are done, as there are a few of these people who have cars that are slightly quicker than the stratus...so the other two cars will need to avenge the stratus...[8D]

the demon is underway...waiting for the heads and crank to get back from the machine shop. there are no real plans for the laser right now other than some free power mods, such as the cat and balance shaft removal...we just got a smokin' deal on it, and i couldnt pass it up.

our goal right now is to get the demon on the street basically with stuff that it came with, and parts from the mirada that were laying around...trying to see how well a low-buck build will run, of course with the help of my dad, who can make more horsepower per dollar than anyone ive met...[8D]

 

Yeah that's the real trick on a budget. I am stuck between looks and performance for my next mod, I really want some better headlights and taillights but I know I wouldn't mind a programmer or a larger TB either. We'll see if I get something for daddy day.
