Looks like Joe Gibbs Racing in Huntersville NC is going to be switching to Toyota. There is an expected press conference soon to announce this. That is a 16 year run with General Motors. Stay tuned. Red
I dunno. YOTA has money to spend. look at the truck series..... and they are doin pretty good in the busch series too. I think once they get some good drivers in the cup series that they will start to take over.
Well you have to consider not neccesarily the caliber of the drivers Toyota has this year, but the caliber of the teams as a whole. you have Red Bull Racing, a brand new shop and MWR a new team built on an aging driver. Don't get me wrong Mikey is great, but without DEI he is long gone now. I hope he gets his stuff together next year. Now next year with a team like JGR and drivers such as Stewart, Hamlin and Ricky Bobby (Busch) I beleive Toyota will surprise alot of people.
No, not at first, but I guarantee you "Coach" won't settle for poor performance. He must beleive in Toyota and beleive they can still give them another chamionship otherwise he never would leave chevrolet.

I agree 100%. Joe Gibbs would never switch unless he knew it was for the better. As for Michael Waltrip Racing, it’s the points that are killing Michael and bumping him out of the race. He started the year out in a hole and never was able to climb out of it. He has qualified many races in the 15th to 25th positions but only to be bumped down the list due to the top 35 in points rule and sent home. Rain also has not been a friend. Next year will be different plus he will have had a whole year of Toyota behind himself, Jarrett and Reutimann. Red
