A turboed 14.2 sec Neon I can see keeping up w/beating a stock New Edge GT. However, anything less than said turbo, he'd see nothing but tailights; assuming the Mustang was a GT.

 

Yeah, i have had the same thing happen to me, ford made a "pony package" that looked likethe gt, but all it was was the body panels, before i turboed my car, i smoked a thought v8 mustang, untill he past me(I hit the red light, he did not)
and it was only a single exhuast,now i eat them up and spit them out...... v8s and pony package mustangs, AHAHHAHAHAHAH

 

I'm talking about New Edge GT's, which are the '99-'04 body styles. They're capable of 13.80's, so if you ran into one w/ a good driver, you'd have your hands full. And they'd prolly get you from a dig. The new S197 GT's ('05 and up) would eat your lunch, sorry. You'd have no trouble taking a new Sixxer, but the new GT's are slid mid-13 sec cars.......

 

BS, Even though I am sorta biased here. There is no friggin way that the Neon in his sig even knows how to spell mustang, let alone beat it in a race. I will give props to cars that deserve it, no matter how many cylinders it has, but I dont see it here.

I am a MF member, and I give props to SRT-4's. I have driven several of them and they reallyamazed me. But a 2.0or 2.4 non turbo has no chance against aV8'Stang.

Don't get me wrong man. I think the Neon is on of the best cars Dodge has ever made. Of all the cars that come into my shop, the Neon is by far the most reliable.
